About Us

This site is a photo and writing equestrian site using the Sims 3, your creativity and love for horses (Role Play highly encouraged). It does not require any kind of registration here (but you may want to register on our forum for better integration) or on any other Equine Sims games out there. You may however, if you have a site (may it be private, tumblr, deviantart or otherwise), send us a link and we will be happy to advertise it for other artists to find.

If you do not have a site that showcases your horses and riders profiles and wish to have a place to do so without maintaining a full fledge site, we prepared some stable organization templates from which you can choose. Your personalized google sheet will be displayed in your Artist Site profile, but only you will be able to edit it.

TEMPLATES

This template emphasizes every staffer and horse you have and allow for great details for each. However it would be very crowded and difficult to navigate for large stables.

This template organizes your staff and horses by the discipline they specialize in. It's a good template for large stables focusing on several disciplines. Because each profile must be kept basic, this will fit people who like to keep it sweet and short.

This template organizes your staff and horses by type (breed type for horses and job type for staff). It's a good template for large stables focusing on several types. Because each profile must be kept basic, this will fit people who like to keep it sweet and short.

CREATING AND BREEDING

On FSE, we take pride in the notion that the game is yours! Nobody ought to tell you how to play it! For this reason, we do not restrict the number of horses you can have in any way. No horse credit/certificate/token (or whatever other sites call it) needed. We also offer the possibility to create your very own breeds, including some with supernatural abilities (even though most shows may require those abilities not to be used).

Check out the tab below for more information.

For some of us, breeding is as important (if not more) as showing! Unlike other sites we do not have quotas and limitations on the number of horses you can produce in uncommon colors. We only request you produce colors which are possible in your breed and follow realistic genetics (to know which colors are possible, please refer to the tab above).

Check out the tab below for more breeding and color/genetics information.

MONETARY SYSTEM

Money can be quite enhancing to your gameplay. It can, in the most minimum use (horse sales and stud fees) create ties between you and other members and in the maximum use (stables expenses and income) more or less simulate the management of a real life stable. In other words, it can create additional challenges to your game. We know that's not for everyone. Some of you might want to just relax and not worry about making ends meet in a virtual game as well.

Being all for freedom, we do not wish to impose a monetary system on our members. All money play is optional and virtual (we cannot track it whatsoever). It is up to you to decide what your stable is worth, how much you earn and spend each month, etc... However, we do want things to be fair for those who do wish to have a monetary system. For this reason we wish to provide a general guideline of horse values, stable expenses and incomes. It is more or less based on real life prices but given those fluctuate depending on where you live, take them with a grain of salt. They are not mandatory to follow even if you choose to use a monetary system.

Check out the tab below for guidelines (Google Spreadsheet).

AGING ON FSE

Just as with most of everything else on this site, aging and the speed at which it is done is completely free. If you want to skip ahead and then jump back in time to fit a show requirement, that is entirely okay here. In fact we encourage this freedom for role play. With this said, generally speaking, having a proper idea of time continuum is a advised. We recommend you age your horses at the same speed regardless of their age (aside from the skipping forward and backward part).

We know that on many sites, there is not much to do for horses who are younger than 4 years old. Not here! Your foals and breeding stocks will have plenty of challenges to keep them occupied while you wait for them to enter discipline shows (more on that in the Event System page) and we hope this will encourage breeders not to want to age their youngsters at a different rate than their more mature horses (again, nothing prevents you from skipping ahead in time temporarily if you want to show off your horse in a discipline).

Fédération Simequestre bases their events on a six (6) months equals a RL year system (meaning two (2) weeks represent a month - which could be important for those keeping an income/expense book). You may age faster or slower if you so wish. The speed at which you age will really depend on your gameplay, so keep in mind what you are comfortable with handling in a specific amount of time.

ABOUT OUR EVENTS

For a lot of people, showing is the most important aspect of this game and thus equestrian sim sites put most of their focus on it. We are no exception, and although we are using a completely different system than any other site out there, showing (may it be discipline or breed related) is at the core of our site.

The biggest feature in our discipline showing system lays in a dichotomy between a casual circuit and a professional circuit. The concept allows both avid competitors and more laid back role players to find their niche and play the game they like at the rhythm they enjoy.

Check out the tab below to learn more about Circuits and Discipline Events.

When creating FSE, we thought breeders should have fun as much as competitors and have enough to do in their own branch. It was important to us that they didn't feel like they had to dab into discipline showing for their gameplay to have any value.
